I started this blog in February 2008 while working in London as a software engineer, originally to share work and code with the community. After almost six years in the UK, I returned to Adelaide in 2011.

Since then my career has moved from hands-on engineering into product and technology leadership. I’ve worked as a Software Engineer, Digital Director, Business Intelligence Analyst, and General Manager of a product R&D team — including leading a product and engineering organisation at Hostworks, reporting to the CEO. Today I am Director of ICT Services at Prince Alfred College, with responsibility for technology strategy, data and analytics, service transformation, and senior stakeholder partnership.

Across that path I’ve stayed close to what originally drew me to this craft: building useful systems, finding value in data, and thinking carefully about when new technology – including AI – actually helps, and when it doesn’t. Product development is a creative exercise; at senior level it also needs commercial judgment, delivery discipline, and cultural leadership.

I’m based in Adelaide and interested in product-led technology roles where strategy, engineering delivery, and data-driven decision making sit together.
